Happy 30th Birthday To Me
Yesterday was my 30th birthday! The big 30! I am no longer in the 20+ years old range =(
Sydney Trip
Just came back from Sydney, Australia after spending a week there for holidays with Li Xiang! Sydney is a good place to retire but generally prices there are so much more expensive than Singapore (maybe except for houses and cars). I got a shocked when I paid AU$20 for a 2-hour parking!
We stayed in Surry Hills at an Airbnb Aparment because hotels there are so expensive. A decent hotel cost more than S$200 per night but with Airbnb, I only paid S$120 per night.
We love Surry Hills, there are so many cafes there with good coffee and breakfast! We tried Pieno, Bills, Bangbang, Single Origin Roasters and Bourke Street Bakery.
We prefer Pieno than Bills for breakfast because the prices at Bills is a little overpriced! Bourke Street Bakery’s chocolate tart is good but their pies are just average. For pies, we like Micks Bake House and Harry’s Cafe de Wheels!
For coffee, we like the latte from Pieno, Bangbang and Bourke Street Bakery. For some reason, we don’t really fancy coffee from Bills or Single Origin Roasters.
We also went to Hunter’s Valley for wine tasting. Stopping for lunch at Tempus Two Wine before heading to Scarborough Wine and David Hook Wines for the actual wine tasting!
The day before we depart Sydney, Sydney is having it’s 19th Biennale (21st March 2014 – 9th June 2014) and we visited Museum of Contemporary Art Australia and Cockatoo Island!
Besides the above places, we also visited Bondi Beach, Three Sisters at Blue Mountains, Featherdale Wildlife Park and Sydney Fish Market!
