After it was launched nearly two years ago, Chromecast is now officially available in Singapore (since 19th March 2015).

What is Chromecast you may ask? Well, Chromecast is a thumb-sized media streaming device that plugs into the HDMI port on your TV. Simply use an Android phone, tablet, iPhone, iPad, Mac or Windows laptop, or Chromebook to cast your favorite entertainment and apps right to your television.

In Singapore, Chromecast is brought in by Singtel and only available in Singtel retail shops. The recommended retail price of Chromecast in Singapore is S$65.

I think the price is pretty reasonable especially with the stronger US$ these days. On Amazon, Chromecast is selling for ~US$33 (S$46) but it doesn’t ship to Singapore directly. Hence you need to ship it through a freight forwarder like HopShopGo and it will cost you an additional about US$20 (S$28).

Li Xiang and I love our Chromecast. We are using it everyday, either to cast Plex shows, Netflix shows or YouTube videos.
