The original Final Fantasy VII (FF VII) was released on 31st January 1997 for the PlayStation 1. It was released to Windows PC in 1998.

It was on a Windows PC that I first played FF VII and I got hooked. It is my favourite RPG game and I was hoping it will get a remake eventually (I am sure many FF VII fans as well).

Sony announced Final Fantasy VII Remake last night during it’s press conference at E3. Leading the development will be key members from the original project, including producer Yoshinori Kitase, director Tetsuya Nomura and scenario writer Kazushige Nojima.

No release date yet, but I am sure it will be released on the PlayStation 4 first before other gaming platforms.
