During Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2016, the co-founder and CEO of Netflix, Reed Hastings, announces the launch of Netflix in almost every country in the world except China.

I have been a Netflix subscriber for almost a year (since April 2015) and I have been waiting for this day. Using a VPN to watch Netflix is slightly slower and cumbersome. You also have to block Google DNS if you want to cast it on your Google Chromecast. Getting the Netflix app is also a problem since it is only available in those market that Netflix is in.

With this #netflixeverwhere announcement, the Netflix app is now available in Singapore’s App Store and Google Play. You do not need a US iTunes account to download the app anymore.

Existing User
If you already an existing user (like me), you do not need to do anything. You will be charged in US$ instead of S$, since your registered account is a US account. Of course you might not get all the shows available in Singapore due to licensing agreement or censorship and hence you might still want to keep the VPN subscription, just in case.

Content
According to Tech in Asia, popular TV shows like The Flash, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Breaking Bad are not available in Singapore Netflix along with movies like Django Unleashed, IP Man and Attack on Titan.
