I was waiting for the rumored Apple AirPods Studio to be announced as I intended to get it. But after Apple announces the AirPods Max, I went ahead and bought the Sony WH-1000XM4 Headphones instead.

At S$849, AirPods Max is not targeted at regular consumers. I am not an audiophile by any extent, so I would not spend that much money on headphones.

I saw iShopChangi was having a promotion on the WH-1000XM4. It is selling for S$439, and you can use the coupon code 1212SPECIALS, and that will give you an additional 12% discount, making the WH-1000XM4 cost S$386.32.

To compare, the official retail price of the WH-1000XM4 for S$549, but often you can get it for below that price.

So I bought it on 10th December 2020.

When 12th December 2020 (12/12) came, iShopChangi dropped the price to S$419, and after the 12%, it becomes S$368.72.

And if you thought that is cheap, I so happened to saw a 10 pm flash sale on Lazada on 12/12, and the WH-1000XM4 is going for just S$349. After stacking the credit card vouchers, I paid only S$337, and it comes with free shipping within Singapore.

My WH-1000XM4 is from a shop named Gadget Asia on Lazada.

It is a local set, and I can register the warranty with Sony Singapore.

I canceled my order with iShopChangi after that. The process is so painful. There is no automated way to cancel the order as mine is greyed out even though it is still processing. So I have to WhatsApp them to cancel before they shipped it out in the next few working days.

Luckily they do reply on a Sunday, and my order was canceled successfully. So now, I have to wait for my refund. Hopefully, they don’t cock up like what they did to my AirPods Pro order.

Due to the delay in stocks from Sony Singapore (according to Gadget Asia), I only received it on 26th December 2020. That is a two full weeks of waiting, but it is worth it for the price.

The WF-1000XM4 needs no introduction, and many reviews already said it to be the best active noise cancellation (ANC) headphones in the market right now. So if you are looking at ANC wireless headphones, you will not go wrong with the WF-1000XM4.
